Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Nights Upstream/AME Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations on the manufacturing floor, including cell culture activities, and to guide the Agile Manufacturing Excellence team during the night shift. You will drive reliability, efficiency, agility, and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, compliant environment.

The role requires leading a high-performing team, managing resources, and implementing new technologies across AR30 and AR5, with a 7PM–7AM

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience OR
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience OR
• Master’s degree and 3 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience OR
• Doctorate degree
• In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
• Knowledge and experience within a cGMP or other highly regulated environment including a basic understanding of technical elements across engineering, biological or chemical processing
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, remove barriers and provide support where needed
• Lead with clarity, communicate transparently and build trusting relationships
• Strong leadership and teambuilding skills (coaching, mentoring, counseling)
• Experience with Lean Principles and continuous improvement
• Experience with performance management including conflict resolution and performance reviews
• Analytical problem-solving skills
• Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements
• Ability to be flexible and manage change
• Excellent verbal and written communication (technical) skills
