Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold one of the listed nursing/assistive care programs.
• Must have one year acute care hospital experience.
• Successful completion of Parkland's job-specific training is equivalent to 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• The Unit Technician performs phlebotomy tasks and lab draws as needed for the unit.
• Coordinates patient care and clerical needs as the primary unit contact.
• Performs patient care activities under RN direction, including basic hygiene and vital signs.
• Maintains unit logs, records, and reports for patient information.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients; assists with transports and meals.
• Maintains infection prevention standards and coordinates translation services when applicable.
