Job summary

McLaren Health Care, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, seeks a Unit Clerk to support nursing staff and facilitate patient flow on the assigned unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will handle receptionist duties, transcribe orders, maintain logs, and help with patient comfort and safety.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and confidentiality; the schedule is full-time with 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM shifts, and preferred Michigan CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Aide training program, OR 6 months experience as a Nursing Assistant, OR nursing program enrollment with fundamentals completed.
• BLS certification from recognized bodies required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond.

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit under RN supervision.
• Transcribes orders accurately and maintains census, logs, and documentation.
• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities to support safety and comfort.
• Greets patients and families, coordinates transportation, and ensures a clean unit environment.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
