Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound examinations and support the Radiologist in a fast-paced department. You will verify patient identity, operate equipment, and ensure safety throughout each study, while explaining the procedure to patients and staff.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, adjusting scanning technique to optimize image quality, documenting findings, and maintaining equipment and a clean work environment.

Qualifications

• ARDMS registration required.
• Minimum of 3 years ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and examines patients for ultrasound procedures and verifies identity per dept. procedures.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment and ensures safety to patients and staff.
• Explains procedures to patients and staff, and answers non-diagnostic questions.
• Develops procedure plans based on health status and history, adapting as needed under supervision.
• Records images and data for interpreting radiologists and provides preliminary findings.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe work area and mentors junior staff.
