Mount Sinai Health System in New York is actively seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform and assist in ultrasound exams, support radiologists, and maintain ultrasound equipment. The role involves preparing patients, adjusting equipment, and ensuring safety and accuracy in image acquisition.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography technical training program.
• Successful completion of one specialty examination within 75 days from date of hire.
• Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound/sonography training program and ARDMS SPI exam before date of hire.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and examine patients, verify identity and health history for ultrasound examinations.
• Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, ensure safety and report malfunctions.
• Explain exam procedures to patients and healthcare staff; answer questions unrelated to diagnosis.
• Develop and modify procedure plans based on health status and history; adapt scanning technique as needed.
• Analyze sonographic findings to support clinical decisions and adhere to protocols.
• Notify providers if immediate medical attention is required and evaluate patient status prior to discharge.
