Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri seeks a PRN Social Worker to support patients and families in the Level 1 emergency department, addressing social determinants of health, crisis intervention, trauma certification, abuse and neglect, and complex cases in a high-acuity setting.

You will interview patients, arrange community referrals, build relationships with social agencies, collaborate with the care team, and ensure on-call coverage to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• No experience required.
• PRN schedule as needed to cover vacant shifts.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, assesses priorities and documents case activity.
• Assists patients/families with obtaining community assistance by referral to proper resources.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with community health, welfare, and social agencies.
• Collaborates with team members regarding opportunities for improvement in standard work.
• Supports 24/7 on-site availability at Level 1 trauma center.
