Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown is seeking a Bed Management Nurse to coordinate patient flow and optimize bed availability across the network. The role requires critical thinking and strong communication to prioritize and place patients appropriately.

The position is a night shift (7p–7a) in the COH - Bed Management department. An RN license in Pennsylvania and an associate or higher nursing degree are required. Onsite work with a focus on efficient patient throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN - Licensed Registered Nurse in PA.

Responsibilities

• Monitors bed availability to ensure timely placement.
• Collaborates with departments for inpatient transfers and admissions.
• Documents required information in patient records.
• Transcribes transfers and related documentation by end of shift.
• Answers calls in the transfer center and coordinates emergent information delivery.
• Triages and prioritizes patient transfers to specialty care.
• Identifies and escalates major issues impacting patient throughput.
