Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic to join the maintenance team as a full-time position. Responsibilities include maintaining all aspects of vehicles, trailers, and other mechanical equipment while adhering to FA policies, safe work practices, and customer service standards.

Core duties cover evaluating equipment status, DOT-compliant maintenance, minor repairs, tire work, inspections, and data entry in Maintenance Software.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to pursue a long-term career with an industry-leading company.
• Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with support departments.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (extended hours as required).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Perform tire mounting and dismounting and related repairs.
• Conduct various analyses and inspections to determine cost-effective maintenance, repair, or replacement.
• Keep shop and tools clean and in good order.
• Enter data into Maintenance Software to track repairs.
• Support other duties as assigned.
