Job summary

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA is seeking a Full-Time Night Shift Surgical Technologist to join our high-performing operating room team. Our OR features 17 suites and a broad range of specialties, including robotics and transplants, delivering high-quality care for diverse cases.

You will support surgeons and anesthesiologists, prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, manage sterile supplies, and assist with turnover and instrument counts.

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technician program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) within six months if not yet certified.
• CPR and BLS certification required.
• Act 31/33/34/ FBI clearance as part of licensure and hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize sterile field for procedures.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and assistants.
• Prepare and manage sterile supplies and restock as needed.
• Assist with cleanup and turnover of the operating room.
• Verify setup and functionality of surgical equipment.
• Transport patients and assist with positioning pre- and post-operatively.
• Apply dressings and handle specimens for lab analysis.
