Job summary

UPMC Somerset is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to support our Operating Room and GI departments. The role performs sterile setup, passes instruments, and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure.

This position offers rotating 10-hour shifts with on-call duties and a generous Sign-On Bonus of up to $25,000 depending on experience. CST/TSC certification and CPR/BLS are required or pursued within specified timelines. Join a team focused on safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification required: CST or TSC within 6 months of program completion.
• CPR/BLS required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Entry-level to experienced surgical technologists considered; on-site role with rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and sterile setup for procedures.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and assistants.
• Maintain aseptic technique and assist with patient positioning and transport as needed.
• Assist with specimen handling and specimen labeling for labs.
• Help in post-operative cleaning and restocking of the operating room.
