Job summary

Ascension is seeking a team-oriented professional to support the Labor and Delivery department at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee. This night-shift, full-time role involves assisting surgeons, preparing the operating area, and handling patient transport and positioning with meticulous instrument counts.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience or an associate/technical degree.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR an Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Preferred: BLS Provider certification recognized by AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
