Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a highly skilled IT operations professional for a night shift (10 pm–6 am MST, Mon–Thu) to support a 24x7 Command Center. You will monitor cloud, network, and databases; develop AI-driven workflow contexts; and partner with engineering teams to reduce incident times.

Candidates should have 4+ years in high-availability environments and strong scripting skills. The role requires experience with AWS, New Relic, CI/CD tools, and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a continual, high-availability enterprise production environment.
• 4+ years in managing and monitoring AWS technologies and services with tools like New Relic or AWS Application Signals.
• 2+ years in an enterprise level NOC or Command Center environment.
• 2+ years in developing AI agentic workflows and knowledge of prompt engineering, context management, and AI SDLC.
• 4+ years in scripting, automation, and software development with languages (e.g. Python, Java, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques, virtualization, firewalls, load balancers, IDS and proxies.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, CouchDB).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Harness, Chef, or Puppet.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support for a complex system across cloud infrastructure, databases, and networks.
• Analyze data from monitoring tools and act on patterns and anomalies.
• Collaborate with development teams to shorten incident detection and resolution times.
• Coordinate with on-call groups and executives during outages.
• Report on incident cases via automation tools and ticket systems.
• Create and maintain AI-guided workflow context and related docs.
• Assist automation/tool development to reduce toil.
• Participate in team meetings and projects, independently or as assigned.
• Be available to cover days, weekends, and holidays.
