Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a Night Shift Command Center engineer to ensure high site availability and rapid incident resolution. You will triage, mitigate incidents, and develop automation with AI workflows, while collaborating with dev teams to shorten detection times.

You will work in a 24x7 operation, supporting cloud infra and databases, with on-call duties and holiday coverage as needed. A strong background in AWS, scripting, and incident management is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a high-availability enterprise production environment.
• 4+ years in managing and monitoring AWS technologies and services.
• 2+ years in an enterprise level NOC or Command Center environment.
• 2+ years developing AI agentic workflows and prompt engineering knowledge.
• 4+ years scripting, automation and software development with Python/Java/Bash/PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support for a complex system across cloud infra, databases and networks.
• Analyze monitoring data and act on patterns or anomalies.
• Collaborate with development teams to reduce time to detection and resolution.
• Manage on-call bridges with executives during outages and incidents.
• Document issues and create AI workflow contexts; contribute to automation tooling.
• Participate in team meetings and cover night shift hours as required.
