Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a entry-level Specimen Processing role. You will learn to handle all specimens, enter patient information, and prepare them for testing in a fast-paced central facility.

The position includes 7-on/7-off nights from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM and requires precise labeling and adherence to SOPs. Responsibilities include processing orders, commenting on requisitions, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the laboratory team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Data entry experience preferred (1 year).
• Must be able to maintain department quality, productivity, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow SOPs and Safety Manual.
• Process specimens as they become available and enter patient demographics.
• Label, track, and handle specimens and paperwork accurately.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and according to procedures.
• Assist with departmental projects and maintain patient confidentiality.
