Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Specimen Processing Group Lead in Chantilly, VA (Tue–Sat, 8:00 PM–4:30 AM). The role oversees 8–12 Technicians, coordinates schedules, participates in performance reviews, and ensures compliance with process audits.

Qualifications

• Internal candidates minimum of one year in SPT III/related role.
• 3 years in a lab environment with Specimen Processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of all Specimen Processing duties.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems with technical departments.
• Advises SPTs on test selection and processing.
• Answers staff questions regarding processing.
• Provides feedback to supervisors when issues arise.
• Completes shift paperwork and ensures staff clean up at end of shift.
• Monitors supply inventory and orders supplies as needed.
• Repairs and maintains department equipment and notifies when repairs are beyond scope.
• Assists in training, cross-training, and auditing functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
