Job summary

Mecklenburg County seeks a Social Work Supervisor to oversee, train, and evaluate professional and para-professional staff in Youth and Family Services. You will ensure compliance with policies while guiding teams in complex cases and service delivery.

The role is based in Charlotte, NC, with a rotating 11:00pm–8:00am schedule and weekend coverage (6:00pm–6:00am). A 5% shift premium applies due to hours; a Bachelor's in a related field is required, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of social services or human services experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health, or related field.
• Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted.
• Requires valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and evaluate the performance of staff.
• Consult with teams and staff on individual case assignments.
• Develop procedures to meet department goals and ensure compliance.
• Establish performance objectives and conduct reviews.
• Monitor budget activities and adjust expenditures as appropriate.
• Review and audit staff cases and workloads.
• Complete monthly and quarterly program reports.
• Provide consultation in complex cases or emergencies.
• Communicate with other public/private agencies to exchange resources.
• Seek additional sources to increase funding and expand services.
• Review activity reports for continuous operation awareness.
• May staff shelters in disaster situations.
