Job summary
Mars, Incorporated in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead and execute maintenance for production equipment on the night shift. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, coordinate breakdowns, and drive PM/maintenance planning with a strong focus on safety and reliability.
The role requires advanced troubleshooting, PM execution, and the ability to train technicians while maintaining equipment uptime and cost controls.
Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems.
- Ability to troubleshoot ac/dc electrical components including motor starters, switches and sensors.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level.
Responsibilities
- Functions as the technical expert/leader for the technical team on shift.
- Night Shift Point of Contact; manage priorities across the site.
- Oversee coordination of Planned Stops and breakdowns; assign maintenance resources.
- Plan and conduct PMs and work orders independently; support operations by training technicians.
- Drive downtime reduction and maintain PM pillar compliance.
