Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level construction helper to assist skilled craftspersons under supervision. Learn to read blueprints, identify tools, and assist with scaffolding erection and dismantling on industrial sites.

Responsibilities include measuring materials, performing basic cuts, rigging loads, and following safety rules. Candidates may need a high school diploma and the ability to follow written and oral instructions; field experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in the field preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities and sizes of materials.
• Identify tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut materials to specifications.
• Assist skilled craftsmen to erect/disassemble scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways.
• Assist with building, reinforcing and dismantling wooden scaffolds.
• Assist with rigging of equipment loads.
