Job summary

The Industrial Company seeks an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftspersons on construction sites in Mississippi. Under supervision you will read blueprints, identify tools, and support with scaffolding assembly, lifting, and material handling.

You will learn to interpret specifications, follow safety rules, operate hand and power tools, and help erect and dismantle scaffolds while moving efficiently in a noisy, outdoor industrial environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience.
• Knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools, including layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read blueprints and determine scope of work.
• Learn to identify tools required and measure/cut materials.
• Assist skilled craftsman to erect/disassemble scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Assist with construction, reinforcement, and dismantling scaffolds.
• Assist with building wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.
