Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in the Dallas area seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFT and ventilator support with oxygen and aerosol therapy. Duties include airway maintenance and respiratory assessment for adults and neonates under indirect supervision.

The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited respiratory care program, licensed in Texas, with BLS/ACLS, and obtain NRP/ALS within 1 year of hire. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification is required.
• NRP or Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• 6 months of respiratory care experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosols and humidity therapy.
• Handles airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy and CPR.
• Performs diagnostic procedures: ABG, PFT, ECG and pulse oximetry.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data and documents results.
• Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment; ensures infection control.
• Contributes to safety, quality assurance and patient satisfaction.
