Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Roaster Assistant for the 2nd shift (6 PM–6:30 AM). Pay is $17–$18 per hour. You will manage roasting equipment, monitor temps, and ensure product quality, safety, and flavor consistency.

The role requires 1+ year of experience in roasting or food processing, ability to operate control panels, and adherence to GMP/HACCP guidelines. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience operating industrial roasters, ovens, or food processing machinery.
• Comfort operating digital control panels (HMI/PLC).
• Attention to roast quality and sensory evaluation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, monitor, and operate industrial roasters, cooling beds, and conveyors.
• Test moisture, color, roast depth, and flavor to meet specs.
• Adjust gas burners, airflow, belt speeds, and dwell times.
• Follow GMPs, HACCP, and allergen controls.
• Perform routine sanitation and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain batch logs of roast times, temps, output, and quality checks.
