Job summary

Bell Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator/Charge Nurse for Night shift (Bell) at full-time and part-time levels. The role oversees charge nurse duties, staffing, throughput, and staff development, partnering with the Nurse Manager and HR to drive performance and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, with BLS certification and an active RN license in KS/MO. ADN-holders must obtain BSN within specified timelines; NCL may be required.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required by 11/1/2025 for new hires in Southwest KC market locations.
• ADN nurses hired before 11/1/2025 must enroll in a BSN within 6 months and finish by the third anniversary.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Kansas or Missouri; Nurse Compact License within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide charge nurse responsibilities including assignments and throughput management.
• Manage a patient care assignment according to patient care needs.
• Assist with hiring, education and performance evaluation of staff.
• Work with Nurse Manager and HR on counseling and discipline of staff.
• Instruct staff and ensure compliance with standards through monitoring.
• Serve as a role model and mentor for clinical practice and satisfaction.
• Ensure productivity targets and budget compliance.
• Lead unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.
