Job summary

Crane Memorial Hospital is seeking a dependable, compassionate RN to serve as Full-Time Night Charge Nurse on the Med/Surg unit. The role focuses on direct patient care while leading nursing operations, coordinating staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality care throughout the night shift.

As Night Charge RN, you will supervise LVNs and CNAs, manage workload priorities, and mentor staff. Required are Texas RN licensure, BLS/CPR, and at least one year of nursing experience; BSN preferred with

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year of general nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain effective in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Serve as the Night Charge Nurse, providing leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff.
• Assign and supervise nursing staff while ensuring workload balance.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments across the lifespan.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products per hospital policy.
• Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team for continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and discharge planning.
• Provide leadership during emergencies and support staff in critical situations.
• Promote patient safety and infection control; participate in quality improvement.
