Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, Alabama, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (7pm–7am) in the Surgical ICU (SICU). Responsibilities include planning and delivering advanced patient care, guiding a skilled team, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

A strong emphasis on family advocacy and collaboration with the medical staff per unit needs. The position requires Alabama RN licensure, BLS, and ICU-capable skills; prior ICU or SICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing and meets mandatory competency requirements.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid multi-state RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized care plan based on patient needs and responses.
• Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
• Functions as patient and family advocate and communicates with medical staff to manage the unit.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care appropriate to the age group on the assigned unit/department.
• Serves as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and nurse clinician as needed.
• Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful manner meeting regulatory standards.
