Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical ICU (MICU) on a full-time night shift (7pm–7am). The RN will deliver high-acuity patient care in a specialized unit with a lower patient-to-nurse ratio and closely collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include completion of an approved nursing program, current Alabama RN license (or multistate), and BLS; 1 year of experience is preferred though new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Maintains current Alabama RN license or multistate RN license; BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Experience: 1 year experience required unless AVP level approved; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ needs and develop/revise individualized care plans.
• Coordinate care with the health care team and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Document patient care in the medical record and ensure patient safety.
• Demonstrates caring practices and maintains a compassionate environment for patients and families.
• Participates in staff development and nursing leadership activities.
