Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a New-to-Practice Stepdown RN to join a multidisciplinary care team. The role covers night shifts with a 36-hour work week and requires transitioning new grads effectively into patient care using the nursing process.

The RN will perform assessments, develop and update care plans, and collaborate with other disciplines while ensuring patient safety and quality care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they are working or covered by compact or RN applicant (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).

Responsibilities

• Perform and document complete patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans.
• Identify patient learning needs and provide individualized teaching.
• Administer medications safely per state regulations and hospital policies.
• Coordinate patient care and advocate for safety, quality, and ethics.
