Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at West Hospital in Cincinnati. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care and coordinating patient plans in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include lead patient assessments, collaborating with the care team, and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment while adhering to policy and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred but not required.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred at hire; must obtain ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement
• Administer medications in a safe manner per policies and procedures
