Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the minimum-experience role in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will assess patients, develop and adjust plans of care, and coordinate with care teams to achieve unit goals.

Responsibilities include supervising care team activities, delegating tasks, documenting findings, and ensuring safety standards are met across shifts. Requires Maryland RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland, or eligible to practice under MD Compact.
• BSN preferred.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Must meet all unit-specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, NRP).
• One year of nursing experience; solid knowledge and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the Patient Care Team, delegating duties and providing direct patient care.
• Carries out charge nurse duties when assigned; manages care delivery per standards.
• Assigns nursing care responsibilities to staff.
• Develops goal-directed plans of care with patient/family; prioritizes outcomes.
• Performs ongoing patient assessment and prioritizes care needs based on resources.
• Documents care timely, accurately, and legibly; ensures compliance with safety policies.
• Demonstrates competency in skills; assists physicians with procedures; maintains professional practice.
