Job summary

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte seeks a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit to provide short-term observation and treatment, bridging the ED and inpatient care in a 36-bed setting. The role offers fast-paced, varied clinical experiences and opportunities to float across affiliated facilities when census allows.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN and RN licensure with at least one year of Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Emergency Department experience, and excel in teamwork,

Qualifications

• RN licensure in appropriate state and active license.
• One year of relevant experience preferred (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/ED).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for observation patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status.
• Provide care for diverse short-term treatment, monitoring, and stabilization needs.
• Collaborate with Emergency Department and inpatient teams to support seamless transitions.
• Administer medications and interventions per evidence-based practice.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and discharge instructions.
