Job summary

Novant Health’s Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Observation Unit, a full-time day shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM). The 18-bed unit provides monitored care for patients before discharge or admission.

You’ll assess, monitor, administer meds, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely care and favorable outcomes. BSN preferred; NC RN license required; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current RN licensure in NC required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.

About the Unit

Join our 18-bed Emergency Observation Unit located within the Emergency Department, caring for patients who require continued monitoring, evaluation, and treatment before discharge or admission. Work alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment focused on patient safety and quality outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Assess and monitor patients’ conditions and response to treatment.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
