Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a fast-paced Medical Observation Unit in North Carolina. The role supports adult patients with short stays, emphasizing rapid assessment, timely interventions, and collaborative care.

You’ll work a 36-hour week with 12-hour night shifts, weekend rotations, and holiday coverage, in a team-focused environment. Candidates should have an accredited nursing program completion, an active RN license in the state, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the teammate practices (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans; collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies as per clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within the service area.
