Qualifications

• Must hold Texas RN licensure and current BLS certification.
• NRP certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• BSN preferred; hospital experience encouraged.
• Willingness to cross-train to other areas and to become a charge nurse.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Admit, discharge and transfer patients as needed.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Maintain detailed patient records and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Mentor and precept junior staff after one year of nursing experience.
• Adhere to Texas Board of Nurse Examiners rules and hospital policies.
• Promote mission, vision and values in daily practice.
