Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room, nights, 3x3 shift. The role provides planned, skilled nursing care during the critical ED period and continuous patient surveillance.

The RN will adhere to the Texas Nurse Practice Act, maintain necessary certifications, and collaborate with physicians and staff to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across age groups in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required, BSN referred.
• Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Texas required
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS and PALS certification within 3 months of hire.
• TNCC within 6 months of hire.
• ENPC Recommended within 12 months of hire
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
• Prefer hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough ED patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient.
• Adheres to hospital/unit policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
• Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
• Supports and promotes excellence in customer/guest relations.
• Supports and promotes the organization’s Infection Control Program.
• Supports and promotes the organization’s Safety Program.
• Supports and promotes the organization’s Risk Management Program.
• Demonstrates maturity and accountability for job performance.
