Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the overnight postpartum unit to provide direct patient care using the nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for postpartum patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds TX RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS (within 6 months). BSN preferred; willingness to cross-train and float as needed is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• Willingness to cross-train and float to similar areas.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values through effective communication.
• Ensures care is delivered per Nurse Practice Act of Texas and ANA standards.
• Performs nursing care with sound judgment.
• Implements physician orders safely and accurately.
• Assists with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Maintains detailed and accurate nursing records.
• Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
