RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mental Health Unit-Open Unit at Jersey City Medical Center. The role involves patient assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality behavioral health care.

The position is part-time night shift, with 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. hours, rotating weekends and holidays. A NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, and EMR proficiency are required or in progress within six months.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification are required within 6 months from date of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Prior patient care experience.
• Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Behavioral Health.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly to support informed care decisions.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record for continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
