Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health invites you to join Jersey City Medical Center as an RN in the Mental Health Open Unit. This part-time night role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within a supportive, safety-focused culture.

You’ll perform comprehensive assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely, well-coordinated care. EPIC experience and a strong basis in evidence-based practice are valued.

Qualifications

• Active NJ Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN with NJ endorsement.
• AHA BLS certification and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred; prior Behavioral Health care experience helpful.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families clearly, ensuring understanding for next steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to support seamless transitions of care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team with shared accountability and growth opportunities.
