Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Intermediate Care Center on the nights shift. This 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week role covers 7pm–7:30am with rotating weekends in a fast-paced 26-bed unit that cares for medically complex patients.

The R.N. will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and staff while adhering to ANA standards and BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff. Creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualizes the plan of care based on evaluation of findings.
• Utilizes the best available evidence, including research findings to guide practice decisions.
