Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Shift Coordinator RN for the Medical Care Center (4B) on nights. This full-time role supports leadership, coordinates nursing care, and ensures patient safety during the 7pm–7:30am shift with rotating weekends. Compensation is hourly and ranges from $38.50 to $61.60.

The candidate will supervise daily unit operations, delegate tasks, and maintain compliance with ANA standards and regulatory requirements while fostering a patient-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensed RN in the State of Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Telemetry competency.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
• Demonstrates teamwork by helping co-workers within and across departments.
• Manages work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
• Oversees staff scheduling per unit and PCS guidelines.
• Documents appropriate staffing information and justifications in Optilink each shift.
• Oversees documentation of occurrences on shift and reports to Nursing leadership and risk management as appropriate.
