Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for MedSurg CDU on a night shift (7pm-7am) PRN. The role emphasizes exemplary practice, patient-centered care, and collaboration with care teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have an RN license in the US, BLS, and ACLS certifications, with possible additional ACLS-Instructor or ACLS-Provisional credentials. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing or Diploma; RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; instructor certification (BLS-I) a plus.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; instructor (ACLS-I) or provisional (ACLS-P) acceptable under policy.
• RN must have multi-state compact license or single-state license as applicable.
• Minimum 2 years current experience in the specified area of practice; computer/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing process with evidence-based practice for individualized patient care.
• Delivers patient-centered care respecting age, gender, disease and cultural diversity.
• Partners with patients and families using bedside reports, interdisciplinary rounds and patient education.
• Coordinates safe, quality care via documentation and interdisciplinary communication.
• Participates in performance improvement and shared governance across the system.
• Supports protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes and efficient resource use.
