Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med-Surg-2 North (Night shift). You will execute professional nursing care per physician plans, assess patient needs, and document progress while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

You will lead the nursing team and participate in orientation of new staff. The role requires a NYS RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS/TNCC as appropriate, and relevant procedural experience.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS, de-escalation training; ACLS; TCAR within first year.
• For ED: PALS, TNCC within first year.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data involving patient, family and other providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient presentation.
• Document the initial plan of care and updates.
• Incorporate discharge planning into admission process.
• Collaborate with the health team to meet patient needs.
• Develop and implement a plan of care to attain outcomes.
• Communicate plan to patient and care team.
• Demonstrate safe patient care and patient rights.
