Job summary

UNC Health Wayne is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the patient care team in Wayne, NC. The RN applies the nursing process to plan, provide and document care, supports leadership roles, and collaborates with providers and families to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include care planning, supervising teammates, and participating in quality and safety initiatives while delivering holistic, age-appropriate care in a 36-hour/week night shift, onsite setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Current RN Licensure in North Carolina required.
• BLS and/or other specialized life support certifications as required by department.
• Additional certifications may be required by assigned department.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care delivered to patients in accordance with provider orders, hospital and nursing standards, established policies and procedures, and regulations.
• Individually plans and updates care based on patient needs and responses; maintains accountability for care components.
• Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems; performs bedside point-of-care testing as required.
• Delegates appropriately, may act as team leader or charge nurse, and guides teammates in care delivery.
• Collaborates with providers and families to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Participates in performance improvement activities, departmental committees and other projects to enhance quality and safety.
