Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT, is seeking a part-time Inpatient Behavioral Health RN for night shifts (11:00 pm–7:00 am), 24 hours per week. Eligible candidates may receive a prorated sign-on bonus of $15,000.

The role emphasizes relationship-based nursing, teamwork, and professional growth within a compassionate care environment. Requirements include an accredited nursing degree, CT RN license, and active CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license issued by the state of Connecticut.
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification required; if not current, obtain within three months.
• NVCIT certification required within three months of hire.
• Additional specialty certification as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients in our Psychiatric Inpatient Program.
• Assess the health status of patients/families by means of health history and physical examination.
• Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures per protocols in designated area.
• Educates and counsels in health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
• Documents findings and plan of care in the patient's medical record.
• Consults with physician per Day Kimball Hospital policy.
• Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates intervention effectiveness.
