Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an RN to provide patient care and education during weekend overnight shifts. The role emphasizes applying the nursing process, AACN Synergy Model, and collaborative care with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in health promotion and prevention.
• Use AACN Synergy Model to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for patient, family and community.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with patient, family, and health care team under physician/psychologist/podiatrist/dentist supervision.
