Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the night shift at our Baytown campus. The RN II will provide professional nursing care, perform assessments, educate patients, and maintain medical records while collaborating with physicians and the health care team.

Requires 12 months RN experience, Texas licensure (or within 60 days of residency), and BLS/ACLS. Leadership as charge nurse or preceptor may be involved, with opportunities in shared governance and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Twelve months of RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• Texas RN licensure required; must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatments.
• Communicates and collaborates with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Leads unit activities as charge nurse or preceptor and participates in shared governance initiatives.
