Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a registered nurse II for night shift to provide professional nursing care, conduct assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain medical records in a diverse patient population.

This role requires strong communication, leadership potential as charge nurse or preceptor, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Texas licensure, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS within timelines, and 12 months RN experience are required.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency).
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIH stroke scale certification within 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, families and care team to coordinate plan of care.
• Provide nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain medical records.
• Demonstrate leadership potential as charge nurse or preceptor when needed.
• Maintain documentation and ensure patient safety and quality of care.
