Job summary

Mercy San Juan Medical Center is seeking a night, full-time Family Birth Center (FBC) RN to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a Level III facility serving Northern California. The role involves high-risk obstetric care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and mentoring new staff within a busy, 28-bed unit including labor, NICU and mother-baby beds.

You will work in a premier hospital recognized for perinatal care excellence, with emphasis on patient safety, breastfeeding

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of Labor & Delivery and Postpartum RN experience from an accredited hospital.
• Fetal monitoring experience required.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
• BLS certification - American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification - American Heart Association.
• Current NRP certificate.
• NCC fetal monitoring certificate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course completion within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift according to unit standards.
• Care of Patient: Planning, implementing, evaluating and educating the patient.
• Clinical/Technical Skills: Applies unit-specific technology, procedures, protocols and interventions.
• Documentation: Maintains legible, timely and accurate documentation using the computerized system.
• Leadership: Accepts responsibility and communicates with facility leadership.
• Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff and mentors students.
