Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift in our Mount Carmel East unit. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to nursing standards.

You will provide direct patient care, support new graduates and experienced nurses, and participate in ongoing education and evidence-based practice within a Baby-Friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR certificaton.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage patient care.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients.
• Assist providers with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
• Perform basic medical procedures under supervisor.
• Administer medications according to policies and guidelines.
• Assist in emergencies under provider direction.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and diagnoses.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately.
• Coordinate care with other licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate.
