Job summary

SnapCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift at a rehabilitation and critical illness specialty hospital in Durham, NC. This 13-week contract role focuses on comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the care team.

You will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and CNAs, ensure timely documentation, participate in conferences, and begin discharge planning from admission. BLS and ACLS are required before the first shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience.
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and orientees.
• Provide patient status updates for care conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Participate in rehabilitation programs on assigned unit.
• Initiate discharge planning from day of admission and provide patient teaching.
• Communicate status changes to physicians and charge nurses.
• Delegate tasks and train ancillary nursing staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation.
