Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night shift to provide direct patient care and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a designated patient group, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to policies. A valid Massachusetts RN license and BLS are required; BSN is preferred. Weekend, holiday rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Department Specific certifications may be required depending on unit and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Conscientiously evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice and research into clinical practice.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care to patient needs.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating and coordinating with the team.
• Develops a comprehensive educational plan for patient and family, utilizing resources.
• Supports patient/family informed decisions and advanced directives.
• Continuously evaluates and revises the care plan as health status changes.
• Develops discharge plans with appropriate resources and referrals.
• Supports the development and transition of new staff on the unit.
• Guides professional growth of department staff through precepting.
• Participates in departmental committees as needed.
• Occasionally lifts 30-35 lbs and performs turning and repositioning of patients.
