Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an RN for night shift, delivering patient care with a focus on the nursing process and collaborative care. The role emphasizes health teaching, symptom management, and compassionate support for patients and families.

The position requires an Alabama RN license (or eligibility), BLS certification, and typically BSN preferred. Weekend PM shifts, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., with comprehensive benefits and PSLF eligibility where applicable.

Qualifications

• RN license or eligible in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required (or obtained within 30 days of employment).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; education cannot be substituted by experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health and prevent illness.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care with the health care team and licensed physicians.
